Speaking of her recovery from a sprained knee, Carli Lloyd tells The Associated Press: “Honestly, it’s been the best 10 weeks … I’ve had in a long time. I’ve been able to rest my mind, rest my body, rejuvenate myself.”

After a glorious, madcap year — World Cup, World Player of the Year, Victory Tour, endorsements, TV commercials, a book deal — “I’ve gotten to spend time with my fiancé and my friends and be in my house,” she says. “It’s honestly been one of the best things that could have happened.”

With the Olympics starting in a month , “I’m pretty much 100 percent,” she says. “I would say about 95 percent. I’m basically doing everything: cutting, springing, running, shooting. … I should be good to go.”
