In this Q&A with Men’s Fitness, Sydney Leroux talks about the jarring pace of life these days on the U.S. women’s team.

The Americans had barely gotten home from this summer’s World Cup  in Canada victorylogobefore U.S. Soccer was working on the itinerary for a 10-city  Victory Tour.

And coach Jill Ellis was talking about the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

The ticker-tape parade. The television interviews. The radio call-ins. The photo shoots. Commercials. Print ads. Personal appearances.

Guest spots on the morning shows. Guest spots on the late-night shows. Autograph sessions and selfies with fans.

And if all of that didn’t keep Leroux busy enough,  she’s planning her wedding, to take place on Oct. 9.

Oh, yeah. One other thing.  In July, she had surgery on her foot.

“There’s not really time to rest,” she says. “As soon as you win the World Cup, your eyes are on Rio and the Olympics. For me, with the injury, obviously, my focus is coming back. So I don’t have any time off. As soon as I was able to run, I was running.”
