The Celebration Tour gets rolling 

The U.S. women begin their 10-city Celebration tour with two matches against Costa Rica. The Costa Ricans played in their first World Cup this year in Canada. They didn’t win a game and didn’t make it out of the group stage, but they did manage draws against Spain and South Korea.

heinzlogoThe first match is at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh (the hometown of Meghan Klingenberg).

More than 37,000 tickets have been sold for the match, which gets underway at 12:30 p.m. CT. It will be televised on Fox Sports 1.



Wednesday, August 19

Costa Rica redux  

The Americans play Costa Rica again, at Finley Stadium in Chattanooga, Tenn., home of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football and soccer teams. That game is sold out, with more than 20,000 fans expected. Kickoff is at 5:30 p.m. CT. It will be on ESPN2.
