In this video interview, Ali Krieger tells Sebastian Salazar of Comcast Sportsnet in Washington that appearing onstage with Taylor Swift was one of the unforgettable moments of the nonstop celebration that has engulfed the U.S. women’s team since the World Cup.
“That was an amazing, incredible experience,” Krieger says “She was such a cool person… and she was so excited that we were there, which made it even better.”
Swift invited the U.S. women to join her when she performed on July 10 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. Hours earlier, the team had been honored with a ticker-tape parade through Manhattan.
From the video below, shot by a fan at the concert, it’s hard to tell who was more excited, Swift or the team. (Taylor really seemed to like hoisting the World Cup trophy.) But I think the footballers, by a slim margin, may have been more starstruck than the pop artist.
And they’re phenomenal athletes. But not such great dancers.
